ABOUT ME

I chose to become a counselor because I strongly believe that people are able to make changes to their lives with validation, encouragement, accountability, and skill-building. I spent over 15 years working with men that had been arrested for violent crimes  (domestic violence, resisting arrest, workplace altercations, road rage, etc.), which grounded me in the idea that people have the potential to overcome incredible challenges. I learned that if people can learn to be accountable for their actions, develop empathy for others, and practice self-compassion, they can improve their relationships and rebuild their lives. 

 

After my time with offenders I worked directly with homeless, underhoused youth, foster youth, and their families at a local non-profit. Through that experience I learned the importance of incorporating loved ones into treatment. ​

I use a skills based approach that focuses on helping client build the skills necessary to help you improve your life and your relationships. I aim to help clients develop a variety of skills that will enable them to communicate effectively, manage challenges, and adjust to life challenges. ​
